Frequency Alteration Built on an Electro-Optical Sampling SOA–MZI Using a Differential Modulation Schema

In this paper, we present a real and simulated study of frequency up mixing employing an electro-optical sampling semiconductor optical amplifier Mach–Zehnder interferometer (SOA–MZI) along with the differential modulation schema. The signal is generated by pulse clock (OPC) at fs= 19.5 GHz. quadratic phase shift keying (QPSK) intermediate (IF) fIF shifted to high frequencies nfs ± SOA–MZI output. Using simulator entitled Virtual Photonics Inc. (VPI), generate sampled QPSK signals analyze their merits during conversion gains error vector magnitudes (EVMs). We conducted simulations in operating high-frequency band 195.5 positive gain accomplished over frequencies. EVM used evaluate performance up-convertor. reaches 14% data rate 5 Gbit/s During experimental work, results obtained are set side factual ones range 59 Thus, comparison between them confirms that they have approximately same performance.
